If enabled, animals you add in PetFinder will automatically be added in Pawsumes. The API Access information is located in the Developer Settings tab of your PetFinder Account Info. Or via the URL https://www.petfinder.com/user/developer-settings/

If the animal description is different between pawsumes and PetFinder, what should happen?

The PetFinder API script runs automatically daily, if you need to manually run the script, you can do so by clicking on the button.

PetFinder Import (https://www.petfinder.com)

If enabled, Pawsumes will automatically update your animals in PetFinder. PetFinder has to enable the Import feature of your account. https://www.petfinder.com/user/developer-settings/

The PetFinder Import script runs automatically daily, if you need to manually run the script, you can do so by clicking on the button. Please be patient and allow PetFinder time to post the updates to your Petfinder account.

Your PetFinder account must have this Import feature turned on. The Administrator of the PetFinder account needs to send an email to PetFinder Technical Support with the following information:

  • Group name & Petfinder shelter ID#
  • Name of the software you’re using: Pawsumes, a new animal management software program developed by a rescue group for rescue groups.
  • How the current pet listings in your account should be handled:
    • A. Delete them
    • B. Protect them from being deleted by your imported data

AdoptAPet.com API (https://www.adoptapet.com/shelter/portable_pet_list_api)
